When Contacting my legislator by e-mail I use a standard letter format and insert the entire letter into the e-mail comments field - It respects proper protocol, strokes their ego, and gets better response.   I ragged out a legislator big time once and never again got a response, so that don't help.  If you need to rag'em'out do so with polite sophistication they think they deserve.   Write as if you are speaking to them face to face.

Pam Stewart Florida Commissioner of Education:

She returned to the department in 2011 as Chancellor of Public Schools. She oversaw K-12 student achievement; curriculum, instruction, and student services; school improvement; and educator quality. She also oversaw the management and delivery of such affiliate programs as K-12 Race to the Top projects, Just Read, Florida!, the Office of Early Learning, and Florida's Virtual Education Program. These areas and programs provide support for Florida's PreK-12 education system, which serves more than 2.7 million students and 192,000 educators.

Editor comments and notes follow: Folks I don't trust these people, it looks like they have been working to implement Common Core since 2010.
You need to learn more about the real Common Core - it is nothing more than an attempt to capture America through re-education camps called Schools.

Notes from TownHall . com:
My antennae go up whenever any education initiative is associated with radicals, like Bill Ayers.  We still don’t know why Bill Ayers was at an education conference with Arne Duncan and a representative from Achieve, the well-connected, Washington-based non-profit organizing this effort to nationalize education.

But once I began investigating the curricula and test questions I learned that sure enough, the rigorous “standards” turned out to be nothing more than efforts to impose a curriculum that will make global citizens out of all American students.  Or the kind of curriculum Bill Ayers would like, a radical Communist and the buddy of Barack Hussein.
